April 2011 ~first Diabetic cake

this was the first diabetic cake that I made, Chocolate cake and chocolate filling all made with the sugar alternative ~Splenda. My children sampled some of the extra's and loved it. The only thing I noticed with the frosting that it didn't have a smooth spreading consistancy as the regular frostings using powdered sugar.

April 2011 ~Footprints baby shower cake

. This cake was made for a friends sis-in-laws babyshower, she wanted pink footprints and sand and I immediately thought of the "Footprints" poem. Unfortunately, I couldn't fit all the wording of the poem. This pic is not clear the writing in the sand says. "It was then That I carried you" and the baby name . this was a red-velvet sheet cake with chocolate filling. The sand was made out of crushed graham crackers and seashells are pink tinted choclate.

march 2011~ Birthday cake

inspired by a cake I saw online, I thought this would be a perfect surprise cake for my daughter's 9th birthday. I decorated this cake in 90 minutes before our celebration began. I originally was going to cover the cake in fondant but realized I didn't have the ingredients on hand.. Thankfully I had enough buttercream to cover the cake. the cake is yellow with fudge frosting. hot pink sprinkles cover the cake and the Icecream decorations are all fondant. This was the fastest cake that i've made thus far.

such an elegant cake. This cake was made for a couple from church Estellamarie & Elkin,

Ivory fondant and edible pearls cover this redvelvet and strawberry/buttercream filling cake. I believe this cake took about 12 hours total from start to finish.
