I made this cake for my son's 2nd birthday, it was a yummy carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The yogabba gabba cake toppers are all made out of gumpaste including the stars. such a fun cake to make!
I made this cake for my Cousin's twins who turned 1, Ava and Jorge. They are fans of Yo Gabba Gabba. I originally wanted the figures to stand but they didn't have enough drying time for that. Cake was chocolate with strawberry filling.
made this wedding cake for a summer wedding...I was on pins and needles the whole time, hoping the buttercream wouldn't melt, worrying about delivery, the setup etc....but it arrived fine! each cake is a different flavor. chocolate cake w/chocolate buttercream filling, yellow cake w/ strawberry filling and red velvet with cream cheeses filling..all covered in white buttercream with handmade red gumpaste Roses. I had no idea it would take so long to make, it me about 18 hours or so for baking and decorating. I learned so much through this experience, glad I took on the challenge. Thanks Maggie And Ivan for letting me share in your special day!
This adorable puppy theme cake and cupcakes were made for a friends daughter. She loves puppies.... I had originally saw a similar picture online and fell in love with it.
This little puppy, ball and blanket were made out of gumpaste. The frosting was a chocolate buttercream.
For the cupcakes, I made a yellow cake and made a basic frosting, tinting it blue to match the puppy blanket.
This cake was made for my 4yr old niece myah. The cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream. We had to deliver it to the birthday girl, which was a 2 hr drive...what a scary experience all the way there! I held this cake like a newborn baby. It made it there safely, had to do some minor touch ups..but glad this cake is finished!
These are some favors I have sold on ebay in the past. I have only listed some favors as there are too many to list.
Each favor comes in the following flavors: vanilla or plain chocolate. Each favor is placed in a cellophane bag and tied with ribbon (color of your choice)
this cake I made for a friend's daughter, Victoria who turned 9. She likes the colors blue and green so I thought these shades looked pretty together. I used a chocolate cake recipe from my Confetti Cakes book and made a chocolate buttercream filling. I decided to make this cake 2 days prior to her birthday and learned a lot for my future cake making, that things will move a lot faster if I had made all the cake topppings in advance. (I had made a fondant tiara cake topper but unfortunately it wasn't completly dry, so I had to make fondant stars. Each was attached to floral wire and curling ribbon.
I had left over fondant and decided to try making it...I originally saw it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtUCUz7bRSM Myen, who is self taught in making cakes/working with fondant has inspired me to create....This took me about 2 hours to make. All made out of fondant, I couldn't find my florist wire, so I used garbage ties, lol!
This was made for my daughter, Isabella's 7th birthday. The cake was a white cake with Lemon buttercream filling. I made the hello kitty topper a few days prior so it would harden. The cake was covered in a beautiful Pink fondant. I made mini flowers and used green floral wire as stems (those were place on top of the cake). Orange/pink flowers were cut using a cookie cutter and each was placed along the cake. I thought it would be nice to make a number 7 for the front of the cake. I had a lot of fun creating this cake! and it was soooo yummy!
This cake was done for my daughter's 4th birthday party. She wanted a "princess" theme, I thought this would be perfect!I made a yellow cake with a chocolate filling. All the windows, door, and designs are made with edible beads. I placed some candy along the cake for detail. I covered sugar cones with icing and pink sprinkles which was placed on the top of the cake to complete the castle. The flags are made out of pink construction paper. She loved the cake!
This was done for my Friend, Christina's Bridal Shower. The cake was a 2tier cake, made with chocolate cake and strawberry buttercream filling. sage polka dots have a shimmery glitter along with the fondant bow cake topper. Ivory roses adorn the front of the cake. This was another hot, hot day....I ran into some problems working with the fondant ( it is amazing how the weather plays a major part when working with fondant!) I see were I went a little too thin on the fondant. This was a learning experience....My friend and her family loved the cake! thank God!
I had a lot of fun designing this cake. This was made for my niece who loves elmo and was turning 2yrs old. This is a two tier cake, the 1st tier is covered in a deep orange fondant and the 2nd tier is a turquoise blue. Her name was placed in front of the cake. The alphabet and Numbers 1-10 (all done in a greenish color). I had made a few sesame street characters out of fondant which were placed along the 2nd tier. Elmo was the cake topper, As you can see in this picture my poor Elmo was melting fast (all made out of buttercream). Her party was at the end of July in 90 degree weather. The cake was a yellow cake for the 1st tier and the 2nd tier was chocolate. The filling was strawberry buttercream.
I saw a similar cake online and thought it was adorable. All made out of fondant, the cake topper is one fondant candle and a single rose. This was the first time I made roses, not bad for my 2nd cake. This would be perfect for a first birthday.
While watching Ace of Cakes one evening I had a sudden desire to make a fondant cake. The next morning went out purchased my ingredients. made the fondant from scratch. So here's my very first cake. pink, lavendar dots and bow topper is fondant.
